Join us as we take action at the Rhode Island State House to show our united opposition to the fossil fuel power plant has proposed Burrillville. With the Energy Facility Siting Board expected to make a decision this Summer on the main permit for the plant, the time to take action is now!

31 cities and towns in Rhode Island have passed resolutions opposing the power plant, but Governor Gina Raimondo has failed to listen to her constituents. The Governor needs to speak out against the power plant NOW to show that she cares about the climate, our environment, wildlife and the health of future generations.

More details of this event will be coming soon, but please plan to join us on May 30th to let our voices be heard!

Since 2015 residents of Burrillville and other communities have been resisting the 1000 MW fossil fuel power plant proposed by Invenergy. We have sent letters, marched, confronted the Governor numerous times, submitted public comments and taken other types of action to stop the power plant and convince the Governor to oppose the project.

While the Governor has gone from publicly supporting the plant to being "neutral", several State agencies that she oversees, including the Office of Energy Resources have remained strong proponents of the power plant.

In addition to coming to this demonstration on May 30th - you can also TAKE ACTION by:

- Submitting a public comment to the Energy Facility Siting Board explaining why you oppose the power plant. You can email your public comment to Todd.Bianco@puc.ri.gov or Kathleen.mignanelli@puc.ri.gov

-Contact Governor Gina Raimondo and urge her to oppose the power plant: 401-222-2080, governor@governor.ri.gov
